(Nosper Dialogues) Facts versus magic …

Kathryn: Can’t we have better, safer sex without reducing something so marvellous as female sexuality to simple facts? Kathryne (cont): Perhaps part of the enjoyment for some men is that they’re in the presence of something beautiful beyond logical understanding. JANE: Facts and logic make science. The rest is just emotional beliefs, political aims and voodoo! Kathryn: The facts are only one small part of great sex. The emotional and spiritual can’t be measured but are still vital. But to me, the magic of good sex just can’t be summed up by science. Both facts and magic are important. JANE: Some people appreciate facts and logic but, of course, it’s not compulsory! You can believe what you want. My work is based on logical explanations though ! Kathryn: And that’s very important. Some people need facts to connect to knowledge, other emotions or spiritual experience. I agree with you re: the political and consumer aims being used to take advantage of those without information. JANE: My point is that men know what an orgasm is and it must be blindingly obvious that women aren’t having one. Kathryn: Oh definitely! That has to be out in the open and addressed. In my generation it’s common knowledge, part of the vocabulary. Kathryn (cont): Would you say your work and stuff like sacred sex would be complimentary? Helping different people connect with great sex? JANE: No I don’t advocate a spiritual or sacred approach to sex. I talk about orgasm which requires an erotic mind. The rest is sensual. Kathryn: Interesting stuff! Well, I wish you all the best with that work. I bet it really helps some people. Celebrating our ability to enjoy eroticism
