(Nosper Dialogues) A man is always the loser

JANE: A man’s love is conditional on getting the sex he needs. So a woman must be willing to offer a man the pleasure of intercourse. In turn, women want to feel that a man cares for her. Marriage offers security for her and children. Modibbo: Wow! It seems that a man is always the loser. If a man must ensure that the woman he loves gets the type of emotions she needs before she agrees to allow him to love her sexually, isnt that going to be always too demanding? JANE: You are considering taking a second wife without any thought for how that will make your first wife feel. How would you feel if she could find another lover who really cared about her? Modibbo: Marriage is to us Muslims a religious obligation not just a social, cultural union of a man and a woman. The woman is normally unhappy and unwilling at first to accept her husband marrying another wife. But she knows that she has only one option: divorce. Modibbo (cont): There are many reasons why Islam allows polygyny. Not all Muslim men have more than one wife, but this is a matter of choice rather than an issue that is stopped by womens objection to it. One reason for allowing polygyny is because all women may have a husband since Islam, does not under any circumstances allow adultery. Remember the punishments of stoning to death for married man convicted of adultery? Modibbo (cont): Remember also that Islam, the responsibility for wife and the entire family is on the man: this means food, clothing, shelter and health care. Remember the origin of feminism and women’s rights I’m the west were from the unimaginable persecution of women and denial of their rights in the western civilization. Islam prides itself as being the only religion and way of life that guarantees women’s rights more than any other religion or way of life or civilization. JANE: According to your religion, women do not have the same rights as men. That is clearly an inequality. But there are sexual inequalities the world over not just in your country. Modibbo: My religion gives women equal rights with men but that doesn’t mean that the sexes are equal biologically. Biological equality is a concept that exploits women and defeminises them, by commoditizing their bodies. Modibbo (cont): My religion teaches that as mothers, heaven ( paradise) lies under the feet of women. Islam teaches us to respond to women with care and with patience because women are biological fragile. So we men shouldn’t be too harsh on them or too strict as that strictness can break them. Modibbo (cont): I like reading your posts on sexuality from woman’s experiences and biological endowments. I found your posts educating because it comes from your research. Most of the books on women’s sexualities I read were written by men. I value your posts. Celebrating our ability to enjoy eroticism
