The author of Nosper.com is Jane Thomas (see also www.WaysWomenOrgasm.org). WWO is based on a book called ‘The Big C: Sex & Relationships’ and Nosper.com markets ideas for ‘Another big C: Career & Family’. The ‘C’ stands for compromise and proposes that men and women can get the most out of life’s experiences by co-operating over each other’s life goals.
Feminism appears to carp on about the rights of women as if men are standing in the way. The fact is that women today have the advantages and opportunities of the equal rights legislation. Now the obstacles are more likely to be those of general prejudice (which also affect other groups: disabled, homosexuals and racial minorities) and the motivational drive of women themselves. Many women do not necessarily seek the rewards of working life.
Feminism can only be of limited value while it does not attempt to represent the views of all women. Feminists simply adopt essentially male values whereas many women see their family as their most significant adult achievement. Jane is interested in promoting how a couple can co-operate over family life so that both adults are able to achieve their full potential. Nosper.com believes that it is a fact that men and women often have equally valid but fundamentally different life goals.
“Feminism is only of interest when it addresses how the genders should live together. It’s not about war, but peace.” Polly Toynbee (writer) Radio Times magazine Mar 27 to April 4, 1999.
The name Nosper is a rearrangement of the letters PERSON.
It is quite deliberate that nospers are identical and that the item distinguishing them as male or female is trivial. The addition of the ribbon or the bow-tie changes the way we perceive their capabilities and expectations in life.
The point being that gender is still an influencing factor in our lives; sometimes for good reasons and other times for purely cultural reasons. I use the Nosper characters to represent this idea and to illustrate some of the ideas in my book ‘Another Big C: Career & Family’.
Nosper is concerned with gender issues and so could be seen to be solely for women – this is not the case. Issues in employment, relationship and family can affect us all to varying degrees.
